Chestnut Sunday 2013
12th May 2013
We were so lucky with the weather. A perfect cool and sunny morning to set up our canopy and hoopla stall, it was perhaps a little breezy for the balloons - kites would have been better!
Brian, Julia, Ian, Jack and I had fun setting up our pitch and thereafter a welcome rota of volunteers came to help. Grahame and Mary brought Dorothy, our 91-year-old Oldie who once again showed her indomitable spirit, rattling the THWVCG tin. Thank you Dorothy. Ali, our new co-ordinator was there to lend a hand with her husband Jeff; Hannah appeared fresh-as-a-daisy after her night-shift bringing her friend Jo who helped us last year - fantastic! The Hoopla was immensly popular and our new balloons-on-sticks-for-a-contribution idea made us a few bob. In fact, in all we raised about £120 pounds.
But our reason for being at Chestnut Sunday is essentially to raise awareness of our presence in the community so we can reach more of those who need us and attract fresh volunteers, I hope we achieved our aim ......

The 2012 AGM
The AGM
13 October 2012
There was a great buzz and sense of excitement at this year's AGM. We had a record attendance and all of us - clients, volunteers, the comittee and officers - were utterly involved with the proceedings. Goodness, it makes such a difference having fresh ideas and keen minds. The minutes of the meeting are published here under News > Minutes of Meetings.
Also Miranda has written about our Befriending Scheme which you can find here in Latest News > Befriending Scheme.
